Band Hotel is: Chili op percussie, Mexico op bas, Nederland op gitaar en Koerdistan en De Balkan op accordeon en zang.

De band speelt muziek tegen de kou, tegen de eenzaamheid, muziek om te vergeten of juist te herinneren. Muziek om lief te hebben…

Band Hotel laat zich in haar nummers inspireren door de muziek van Santana, War, Mongo Santamaria, Herbie Mann, Manu Chao, Third World, Cuban son en salsa, jazz en soul. Het resultaat van deze ‘blending’ is een vreemde maar heerlijk verrassende, vernieuwende mix.

De groep heeft sinds de oprichting in 2003 al op vele podia in Nederland haar opwachting gemaakt. Al meerdere keren getoerd door Frankrijk en de Balkan en een theatershow gemaakt. Op grote festivals als Lowlands, Solar, Mundial en Totaalfestival gingen de menigtes volledig uit hun dak! Ook speelden ze op het bevrijdingsfestival in Leeuwarden en Zwolle en het Boulevardfestival in Den Bosch.

Band Hotel neemt u in haar muzikale reis over de wereld mee over originele, onbegaanbare paden, grote hoogtes en spectaculaire ontmoetingen.

The band HOTEL was born in 2003, on a small houseboat in Amsterdam, nowadays they house on the little lighthouse-island of Amsterdam. It’s a serious grooving band with growing live reputation. Their music is streaked with styles and stories from all over the world. Nine different musicians from nine different countries join together and give color to the band HOTEL: Croatia, The Netherlands, Mexico, Kurdistan, Argentina, France, Bulgaria, Czech Republik and Chili.

Strong reputation
For years they organise jamsessions where they examine different musical cultural influences. On the beach at one of the islands in Amsterdam they organise a monthly happening which is always a booming event. The Balkan, Brazil, Mexican, Surinam and Urban jam
are some of them. Many guests are returning live with them on stage. HOTEL played with more than hundred guest musicians from all over the globe.

Feels good
HOTEL is the best feelgood band of this moment, their music is warm, open and spontanious, always high quality and renewing
without being pretentious. Influences from Santana, War, Mongo Santamaria, Herbie Mann, Mano Negra, Third World, Cuban son and
salsa, jazz and (Nuyorican) soul fuse into an original idiom.
They play serious songs but at the end it’ll surely explode on stage.
